This beaded landscape depicts the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, the the rocky Greek coastline south of Athens. Here sailors stopped to ask Poseidon's blessing on their journeys.

This picture is beaded in brick stitch, with seed beads in sizes from 6/0 to 15/0, as well as other accent beads. Thanks to Joanne Strehle Bast who taught me this method of working in her wonderful workshop, "Painting with Comanche Stitch."

The Porch of the Maidens on the Acropolis in Athens is silhouetted against hills and sunset. The Porch of the Maidens is part of the Erechthion, which was said to have been the favorite temple of the ancient Athenians. Here, it is interpreted in seed beads and other small beads of glass and stone.

The columns of the Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens appear against a dramatic sky. Thousands of seed beads and other small beads form the picture of this ancient temple.
