Temple of Poseidon at Sounion, my
first picture beaded in this style, was accepted for the 2003 bead
calendar, The Bead Goes On.
It also appeared on the postcard and poster for the Bead Society of
Greater Chicago's 2002 Art of Beadwork show.

Porch of the Maidens on the Acropolis, my
second piece, was published in Bead and Button
magazine, Issue # 54, April 2003.
It was juried into the national Women's Works show in the
spring of 2003.

My self-portrait (and third piece) was
published in the Bead Buddy column in the October, 2002, issue of
Beadwork Magazine. |

The self-portrait grew a cartoon-style
thought balloon for the Bead Society of Greater Chicago's 2002 Bead
Challenge. The theme was "Think Inside the Box" and entries
had to fit into a 3"x3"x3" box. This piece won the "Best Newbie" prize from the members and
second place in the vote by attendees at the Bead Society's Bead and
Book Show. It is included in 500 Beaded Objects: New Dimensions in
Contemporary Beadworks (edited by Terry Krautwurst, juried by Carol
Wilcox Wells, 2004, Lark Books). |

Awards:"The Goddess Who Weaves
the Night Sky" was a Finalist in the Bead Dreams 2003
competition,
juried by Virginia Blakely and Carol Perrenoud and won a
Juror’s Award at Bead International 2004, juried by Ann
Tevepaugh Mitchell, Carol Wilcox Wells, and Jennifer Whitten. .
Publications: It was published in The Crafts Report, Bead &
Buttons Bead Dreams 2003, and 500 Beaded Objects: New Dimensions in
Contemporary Beadworks (edited by Terry Krautwurst, juried by Carol
Wilcox Wells, 2004, Lark Books). It also appears on the poster for Bead
International 2004. |
